What you may not know is, God deeply loves you and He created you to be in relationship with Him.  He made us with a God-shaped void in our lives that cannot be filled with anything but Him.  It’s common for us to try to fill that void with many things, only to find that we remain empty and unfulfilled.  Only God, can fill the void.

 

God sent His son, Jesus, to show us what He is like. We learn about God from the Bible, God’s Word to us, which helps us understand about the teachings and life of Jesus.  We understand that we’ve all sinned and left God out of our lives.  We made bad choices, hurt others, lived selfishly and didn’t realize how much God loves us

.

Because He loves us and always wanted a relationship with us, He sent Jesus to die on the Cross for our sins.  He took our sins (bad choices) upon Himself.  He paid the debt for our sins by giving His life.  He rose from the dead, to show us that through relationship with God, we can have God’s help for our daily lives and eternal life in heaven when we die

 

We connect with God by beginning a relationship with Him through believing in what Jesus did for us, asking Him to forgive us our sins and inviting Him to come into our lives.  When we do, God gives us His Spirit that fills the emptiness in our heart.  We know we’re are forgiven, accepted and loved.  We further connect with God and grow in relationship with Him through worship, prayer, reading the Bible and being with God’s people in church and other ways.
